About

A shelf for games that didn’t exist a year ago.

Aicade is a storefront and a player for games built with AI — curated like a catalogue, not dumped like a directory.

The problem

Making a small game got dramatically easier. Getting anyone to play one did not. The work ends up as a zip file, a link in a thread, and a download prompt most people will never click through.

What we do about it

Every game here runs in the browser, instantly, in a sandbox that can’t touch anything of yours. Every game is played by a person before it reaches the shelf. The catalogue stays small enough that being on it means something.

There are no ads. Not before a game, not between levels, not anywhere. Right now there is no paywall either — the whole catalogue is free while we build it out, because charging for something this young would be charging for a promise. When we do add a paid tier it will be for larger commissioned titles, and the games that are free today will stay free.

Where the money goes

When there is revenue, half of it goes to developers. Today that figure is honestly zero, and we say so to every developer who asks rather than dressing it up.

Half of subscription revenue, after card fees, goes to developers — and every subscriber’s share is split between the games they played, not pooled and handed to whoever was biggest that month. Play one game all month and its developer gets your whole contribution. The other half runs the place: servers, bandwidth, review, support, and the people doing it. We would rather say that plainly than imply the money all passes through.

Being straight about AI

Games list the tools that made them, on the store page, as a feature. We think that’s more interesting than pretending otherwise, and it lets players find work made the way they’re curious about.
