Heatwave '89
Vice Shore, summer '89. One hit kills. So do you.
About this game
Vice Shore, 1989. The Moreno family is moving Velvet through the city, the precinct is on their payroll, and you owe everyone. Take the call, drive to the address, and clear the building floor by floor. One hit kills you and one hit kills them; dying puts you back at the door in a heartbeat. You carry momentum, so a sprint into a door slams whoever is behind it. Doors swing on real hinges, guards hear gunshots through walls and hunt where they last saw you, and every room is lit by neon that bleeds colour across the floor, with soft shadows thrown by every wall. Rooms are full of loose things: kick chairs and crates into people, shoot a red barrel and the blast throws bodies, sets the floor alight and chains into the next one, burst a bag of Velvet into a white cloud or a stack of cash into a storm of bills, and the lamps swing on their cords when a round goes past, dragging the shadows with them. Five floors from a laundromat on 5th to Precinct 9. Blood can be switched off with G.
