Drumbecue Cook-Off
Three oil-drum barbecues, a queue of hungry neighbours and one very patient repairman.
About this game
Fire up three worn, heavy-gauge Drumbecue oil-drum barbecues in a grubby workshop full of sparks, grinders and stacked drums, and keep the orders coming. Tap a food from the tray, tap a drum to lay it on the grill, and watch the ring fill. When it glows green it is perfect: tap it and it goes straight to the customer waiting on it. Leave it too long and it chars.
Chef Miyagi, forty, fit and unflappable, runs the grill and teaches you as you go. When a drum breaks (the fire goes out, a leg wobbles, the grate slips or a lid jams shut with the food still cooking) tap the spanner and young Mr Parker puts down his welding torch and comes to fix it.
If Desmond lets him. Desmond hangs about the workshop shouting at Mr Parker, and every shout knocks Parker's focus. Tap Desmond while he winds up to shush him, and when Parker drifts off to argue back or check his phone, tap him to get him back on the job, all while you keep the food coming. Desmond also leaves his flip-flops on the grill and his cool box right where Parker walks.
Burgers, sausages, chicken skewers, steak, halloumi and corn across a run of busier and busier days, each with a takings target and tips for perfect, speedy service. It plays with a finger or a mouse, in portrait or landscape.
