Halftone
Two inks, one page, and not enough room for both.
About this game
A sheet of paper, an even grid of dots, and two inks that both want all of it. Halftone is a real-time territory game played on the page: your land is laid down in soft light grey, theirs in charcoal, and everything nobody holds yet is hatched like an engraving waiting to be filled in.
Drag from your base and a column of little ink firs marches out along the grid, claiming every cell it crosses and fighting whatever it touches. Towns raise troops, forests feed your base, towers pick off anything that strays too close, and ground deep inside a rival's land holds out far longer than the open fields between you. Cut a line through their territory and the far side hatches over and fades — where you march matters as much as how many you send.
Every level is built from its number and laid out symmetrically, so each map is new but none is unfair, and a retry is the same map. The first is a two-drag lesson you cannot lose. By the thirteenth there are three rivals, and they have learned to wait for your base to look empty. Every level you hold earns up to three stamps on the campaign page — held, under par, and flawless — and any level you have reached can be replayed from the title for the ones you missed.
