Sunflower Front
Lead a small section of defenders on a front line of sunflower fields, tree belts and shelled villages. Dig in, fly drones, call the guns and take back the town.
About this game
Sunflower Front is a top-down war game about a small unit of Ukrainian defenders holding a stretch of steppe against an invading army. You lead the section on the ground: a rifleman, a machine gunner, a medic, a drone operator, an anti-tank gunner and a grenadier to start, each with a name, a rank, morale, fatigue and wounds that carry over from one operation to the next. The fallen stay fallen.
Every day the front-line map offers new operations: hold a trench line against waves of infantry and armour, raid an enemy trench bay by bay, ambush a column on the road, walk civilians out of cellars to the evacuation truck, recover a stranded fighting vehicle or a tank the enemy abandoned, hunt the drone teams that watch your positions, and when a sector is weak enough, seize it back. Ignore an attack and the sector falls. Win and the front moves.
The guns are modelled closely: AK-74s and AKMs, Western carbines, the RPK and PKM, a marksman rifle and a bolt-action, RPG-7s, light anti-tank launchers and guided missiles, grenades and smoke. Rounds fly with real drop and penetration, cover and armour plates matter, fire suppresses, and wounds need bandages, tourniquets and a medic, or a medevac.
Drones are everywhere. Fly an FPV drone yourself from your operator's goggles, spot with a recon quad and drop grenades from it, and listen for the enemy's: their buzz means hide under the trees, jam them with the EW pack or shoot them down.
Fight from trenches and dugouts you can dig and fortify, through tree belts and sunflower and wheat fields, across a river with one bridge still standing, into villages of plaster houses and a town of Soviet-era blocks, factories and a rail yard. Buildings fall to ruins, craters stay where shells land, and burning wrecks smoke for hours.
Drive and fight a tracked infantry fighting vehicle, face T-72-style tanks and BMPs, and knock out their tracks and turrets. Call in mortars, artillery, smoke, illumination and airstrikes over the radio, with real flight times and danger-close warnings, and request medevac and resupply. Back at the company dugout, spend supply on drones, shells and better kit, recruit replacements and upgrade the base.
Built in real-time 3D on the Concrete Crown engine, through days and nights, rain, fog and mud. Play with keyboard and mouse, a gamepad, or twin-stick touch controls on your phone, landscape first. Your campaign is kept in your Aicade save.
